Give the Gift of Hope

Each year, publisher Human Kinetics organizes the Twin City Twosome, a benefit race and fundraiser that draws hundreds to Crystal Lake Park in Urbana. Local students organize penny drives, hold bake sales, and direct benefit plays dedicated to raising awareness - and raising funds. Whether as an individual or a group, our community makes a difference to A Woman's Fund, Inc.

Your financial contribution touches the lives of survivors of violence, and makes an impact on the effort to end violence. We operate with very low administrative overhead - roughly 14% of our total budget - which means that your support will have a direct impact on the people we serve. Only 3% of our budget is spent on fundraising, which is why your donations are so important.

• $35 will underwrite the expenses associated with providing one Child Assault Prevention Project (CAPP) workshop in a local elementary school.
• $50 can provide a baby born while living in our shelter with a small supply of blankets, bottles, and appropriate clothes.
• $85 will provide pager service for our 24-hour rape crisis hotline for a week.
• $110 will help a woman escape from an abuser by providing her with a cross-country bus ticket to be with friends, family, or to make a fresh start.
• $770 will house, feed, and provide counseling and advocacy to a resident of A Woman's Place for one week.
